# The Farmer, the Wolf, and the Chicken

A farmer must cross a river with a wolf, a chicken, and a bag of grain. He can only take one at a time.

-   The wolf can’t be left alone with the chicken.
    
-   The chicken can’t be left with the grain. How does he get them across? **Answer:** First, take the chicken. Then go back alone. Take the wolf, but return with the chicken. Take the grain. Finally, return and take the chicken again.
